Family Office Planning

Families whose wealth has grown beyond a single business, often after a sale or as a new generation becomes involved, need a structure that can manage that wealth over time. We design the legal structure of a family office: trusts, family investment and real estate entities, a management company where appropriate, and governance documents such as a family constitution and investment committee charter. We then serve as ongoing counsel, keeping the structure current and working alongside the family's investment advisors, accountants, trustees, and insurance professionals. The firm does not manage investments; we coordinate with the advisors the family chooses.
